About our home
Rumah Suci is a 3 bedroom + studio loft home located on 2500 square metres of tropical gardens and ricefield terraces in the village of Penestanan. It is a 20 minute walk or 10 minute drive from Ubud, the cultural & religious capital of Bali. Enjoy all of the cultural, culinary and wellness attractions the area is famous for.
The property has a large swimming pool, free WiFi and includes housekeeping and maintenance staff. The housekeeper, Karmi, is an excellent cook and is happy to prepare meals on request. She will also help with local information such as temple ceremonies or hiring a car, a driver or a motorbike.
The house is on a paved track 100 metres walk from covered car park and it is accessible by motorbike.
Enjoy the rhythm of the rice cycle as you relax on the tiled terrace complete with comfortable day beds, armchairs and a dining table that seats 10. Use the well equipped Balinese kitchen to caters for your daily needs.
Walk for hours through ricefields from the house. Get around easily on a motorbike, hire a self-drive car or a driver with a car. We have a recommended driver who can pick you up from the airport for $US25 and charges around $US45 per day for the car, fuel, driving and acting as a tour guide.
There are great restaurants and cafes withing walking distance from Rumah Suci or take a 10 minute drive to Ubud for gourmet degustation, Vegan, International and local Balinese food.
Book a masseur to come to the house for a treatment or go to one of the fabulous nearby spa/massage salons to pamper yourself. Join a local yoga or Pilates class in nearby studios.
All bedrooms (including the loft/studio) have king-size beds. Two bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. There is an additional family bathroom with a laundry. The upstairs studio and downstairs bedroom are air-conditioned. Other rooms are fan-cooled and enjoy the breeze from the ricefields.
Rumah Suci is a sanctuary that combines age-old Balinese rice culture with the comfort of modern day travel.
