About our home

Our home is an impressive residence approached through electric gates along a sweeping gravel drive. It is nestled away in a most peaceful and tranquil setting with a 1000 acre forest as a suitable backdrop.

It is a four bedroom family home each bedroom having its own en-suite bathroom. The centre lawn is surrounded on three sides creating a great place to relax in the sun and have a barbecue.

There is a lovely sense of calm about the property and is a heaven for children. There are three large reception rooms with television in two of them. The kitchen is the heart of the house and has a very nice
country living feel to it. There is a decking out the back looking into the forest.

More about us

  1. I am married with two children aged 8 and 10. We have a dog, a horse and a pony. These would be minded by others for the duration. I am an airline pilot working for Aer Lingus for the last 24 years. My wife stays at home with the kids out of preference and is a qualified masseuse which she does from home.

We have not done a house swop before but have heard more and more people doing it and it seems to be a great way of traveling for less money and avoiding the coldness of hotel holidays. If Ireland is not your preference we also have a two bedroom apartment in the South of Spain which we could provide details of.

Where is it?

Lying just South of Dublin, Ireland's Capital City, Wicklow is also known as "The Garden of Ireland". Only 20 minutes from the South side of Dublin and you are in Ashford. Then a mile and a half from Ashford you are in our home. We are surrounded by an equestrian race horse training facility and can view the horses training on the gallops. We have very nice friendly neighbours who also respect privacy. The woods out the back are government owned and provide hours of marked trail walks for the walking/hiking enthusiast.

Wicklow County provides approx. 1,250 square kilometers of beautiful nature to be explored. With over 45 kms of coastline and 320 square kms 1000metres above sea level, there are no limits to what one can do.
All this offers water pursuits such as fishing, sailing, windsurfing, boating and leisure cruising.

For the golfers - this area is a complete haven. The closest course in a 10 minute drive and is called Druid's Glen and was voted European golf course of the year in 2001.
