As a host (1)More about us
-
We are John and Marella, a married couple with 3 children. We are both professionals (Engineer and teacher) and (Irish and Canadian) and enjoy travelling. We have done one home exchange before with a French family and enjoyed it very much and had a positive experience. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email / Skype first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in the Ireland.

We love the outdoors and regularly explore historical abbeys and castles around Ireland. We also enjoy hiking, scuba diving , snorkeling and cycling.

Neighbourhood
Ideally located as a touring base, our house is within easy driving range of the west coast of Ireland (1 hr) where you can see attractions such as the 'Cliffs of Moher'. Also, we are near the N7 Moterway and you can be in Dublin in less that 2 hours.
We are in the countryside with a number of very helpful neighbors close by. We are located between two small towns Newport and Murroe (approx 2km to each). You can access shops, pubs, restaurants, post office in these towns. We are located right next to a forest park 'Clare Glens' which offer nice walking trails.
Limerick City is located 15km from our home and has a lot to offer from shopping, eating out, historical attractions, tourist office and some very nice walks.
