About our home

"The Blue Cottage" is a cosy Irish Country cottage with all the amenities you'd expect from a modern house. On it's own private grounds, it's part of a small development only 500 meters from your own private beach or the larger beach of Donaghmore. The local village of Ballygarrett is only 5 mins away by car and has a local grocer, petrol station, church & village cafe. On Sundays there is a farmers market in the local hall where you can sit down for a cuppa with the locals amongst the many baked delights, local organic veg, home cooked breads and arts & crafts. The larger town of Gorey is 10km away where you will find all that you need from main supermarkets to fine dining and cafes or treat yourself to the many beautiful fashion boutiques.

The cottage consists of a fully fitted open plan kitchen with a bright living/dining area and a multi fuel stove for any unexpected chilly evenings. Next to the kitchen is a washroom with washing machine, sink and toilet (dryer in the Garage). There are 2 bedrooms downstairs - Bedroom 1 has bunkbeds and bedroom 2 has twin beds. Upstairs there is a mezzanine area with large dolls house and separate older kids area with many board games, books and playstation. The main bathroom has a toilet, sink and shower. Bedrooms 3 & 4 have a King bed (master) and twin bedroom.

Some of the other facilities and conveniences include:
- wireless internet access
- TV, DVD player and Wireless speaker for your iphone music
- A Nespresso coffee machine
- Dishwasher, washing machine and dryer
- Hob, oven, microwave and fridge freezer
- Dolls house with residents and furniture
- Books, playstation and boardgames

The grounds have two tennis courts, a kids playground and open picnic area with wonderful sea views. Also close by are the powder white beaches of Old Bawn, Morriscastle and Curracloe (where the famous movie "Saving Private Ryan" was filmed). If you fancy pier jumping the village of Cahore is only 7km away for the kids and wannabe kids or just sit outside on the hill with a pint of the Black Stuff and soak up the view that overlooks the harbour!

This is a home away from home for cosy evenings under a covered pergola complete with outdoor heater if you fancy eating out. There is a large 5 ringed gas barbecue with a table to seat 6+ and many seating areas around the patio. This is the perfect place to view the amazing display of stars that the cottage has in its sky. A spectacle you will only appreciate when you come here and are away from city lights.
