About our home

Our charming traditional style 4 bedroom home is situated in a quiet rural setting just outside the historical Medieval town of Athenry and just 20kms outside Galway city. It's towards the end of a very scenic country road which is wonderful for a quiet walk or cycle. During the summer months we spend as much time as possible outside and love having friends over. Our gardens are mature but they are still a work in progress. We believe our home is an ideal base for anyone wishing to visit the West of Ireland, enjoy the lively Galway races, experience the magic of the International Volvo Ocean race, experience the Beautiful Natural Rugged Countryside of Connemara or the Burren both within a 40 minute drive or you can sit back and relax in the countryside.

Neighbourhood

Athenry, 23kms east of Galway City, proudly claims to be the finest surviving medieval town in Ireland. It was established as a market town in the 13th century and its streetscape reflects its medieval past, with narrow streets and town walls. The town has been very well preserved - 80% of the walls, five out of six wall towers and one fine arched gateway still remain. Today, Athenry is a bustling town with a number of charming cafes and shops and a good choice of pubs for socialising and traditional music.
