Our house is large, comfortable lived in, clean, with lots of light. We have a large kitchen which is well equipped. There is a conservetry off the kitchen which is warm and sunny. This overlooks the hills and the garden which is mature and beautiful. We have a large sitting room with an open fireplace. There are Two bedrooms one ensuite with three bathrooms besides. There is lots of parking in the yard outside. We have a glasshouse where we grow organic vegetables and a little patch outside where we grow some more. We have four cats who live outside but love to sneak into the house if a door is left open, our very kind next door neighbours will feed them if need be.
“We exchanged with Marina and James and everything was perfect, they were lovely and left for us a lot of information. Their home is big with a lot of light and Killalla is a perfect place if you are looking for peace and nature: you can go walking and biking and enjoy landscapes. Beautiful islands as Clare Island and Achill Island are not far and for a sunny day there's a very nice beach about one mile far. We strongly recommend Marina and James and their home.”
“We stayed with James and Marina for few days in August 2013. They welcomed us with a wonderful dinner and an enjoyable evening of conversation. Their guest room is comfortable and quiet and their home is well-located for many interesting places to visit. We enjoyed beach and forest walks, all nearby. Our stay with them was a highlight of our trip to Ireland. We look forward to hosting them some time in the not-too-distant future.”
We are James and Marina, we have two grown up children who like to travel with us if the opportunity arises, we love being near the sea. We have completed several home exchanges successfully including swapping cars. We love swapping homes.
We live near the small town of Killala in a very scenic area overlooking hills and valleys and views of the atlantic ocean. There are a lot of beaches and historic sites within walking distance. Killala is a historic town and very beautiful little where you can relax and unwind in the peace and quiet of the local beaches. There is opportunity to swim, surf, walk on the beach, use several walking trails, fishing, deep water fishing, horse riding and much more. Ballina is a larger town with all the usual amenities including some good resturaunts, pubs, nightclubs, shops, library, train and bus service,several good leisure centres, playground, tennis court, and lots more, it is also the Salmon capital of Ireland and people travel all over the world to fish on the famous river moy. We are blessed to live in such a friendly neighbourhood.
