My house is just off the famous Ring of Kerry, and is in an amazing rural setting with sea and mountain views and in an area that is steeped in history. All the furniture is new and modern throughout, and there is a piano in the front room if you fancy a bit of playing.

Tourism is a big feature of Kerry generally. Indeed the vast majority of American tourists visit Kerry in summer, autumn, winter and spring depending on their interests.

Its a great area for beach, sea, and hill walking. cycling activities -- with the beach less than 3 minutes away. There is also a local Irish pub a very short walk away, serving the very best of food and drink, plus musical and singing entertainment.

I can guarantee you an amazing holiday in Ireland and in Kerry.

I am planning to take two of my sons to New York (1 week) and Boston (2 week) in the second last week of October 2014 (flights are booked for the 3 of us at this point). They have never been to the USA before, and we are looking forward to an amazing city break(s) in your country in return for a magnificent country holiday in Kerry. I am very interested in doing a house/apartment swop, and will make my house available at a time that works for you and both of us. Because it is a holiday home I have a lot of flexibility in terms of making my holiday home available to the person or family I swap with. I have no doubt that it will be a holiday of a lifetime for you if you come to Ireland and to Ballinskelligs.

We are so looking forward to New York and Boston, and it will be very much a swop for us looking for a fantastic City Vacation in the US in return for a vacation in Ireland in a rural country area in the South West of Ireland.

Neighbourhood

Ballinskelligs is a magnificent part of Kerry, and within a short walk to our house is a beautiful art gallery and coffee shop, an oasis of world class works from artists all over the world, check out http://www.cillrialaigartscentre.org. There is a World Heritage Site right alongside us, at Ballinskelligs, the world famous Scellig Michael, an ancient monastic site that lies around 7 miles offshore that people come from all over the world to visit. It is a place of indescribable majesty and magic, and can be reached by daily ferry from local Ballinskelligs and Portmagee ports (approximately an hour long journey each way and a good chance to see all sorts of marine and birdlife, from dolphin, seals, even whales, and of course the tens of thousands of gannets that are at home at Little Scellig, the sister island of Scellig Michael) For more info check out http://www.worldheritageireland.ie

Word of warning........ when you visit this part of the world there is a grave risk that you will become entranced with the area, the places and people and you will find yourself (like us!) coming back again and again and again. It's a spiritual thing, can't be explained by the natural beauty alone!

For anglers the lake at Lough Currane in Waterville, only 7 miles away is world famous for its trout and salmon fishing, (see http://www.loughcurrane.com while for those into sea angling both shore and boat, the waters around here abound with fish, from cod, pollack, mackarel, bass, gurnard, ling to mention but a few.

For the golfers among you there are two fantastic courses within 7 miles of our house, the modern but very stunning Skellig Bay Golf Club (http://www.skelligbay.com where you can play 18 holes for anywhere between ¤30 and ¤50 depending on the time of day and time of year, and the much more renowned and longer established Waterville Links, a course that's been a favourite of such legends as Tiger Woods, Payne Stewart, Mark O'Meara and simply ranks as one of the most memorable courses you will ever play. Ranked Number 34 in the WORLD'S TOP 100 according to Golf World, it's a bit more expensive but worth every penny. And a world class welcome to go with the world class course.
