About our home

Our house is in a rural setting situated near our family farm which overlooks the Nagle mountains and is in the beautiful Blackwater Valley. It is effectively a new build revitalising and enlarging a traditional farmhouse dating from the mid 1700's into a warm comfortable house with a traditional Irish feel. There is the main house which is 3800 sq ft which is part thatch and predominantly natural slate and two apartments at the rear of the building and are let on a short and long term basis and do not interfere with the main dwelling house.
The house has a spacious open plan enterance hall and a large open plan living room and large fireplace and stove - a gallery balcony leads to the en suite master bedroom.
All bedrooms have a small ensuite shower and toilet. A large kids playroom with an oven of toys is also on the ground floor.
There is a large private and enclosed playground with climbing frame, treehouse ,a ,zipline, swing set and trampoline for the kids should they choose to use it.
We are 4.5 miles from the nearest town Mallow which is well serviced with supermarkets restaurants cinema etc. and an excellent rail link to Dublin and Killarney should you wish to day trip without a car. We are 35 mins from lovely Cork city Irelands second biggest city, and 1.5 miles from a small village called Killavullen with a few nice traditional pubs. . You can walk to the village on a beautiful riverside walk.
A car is a must - and due to its central location in Munster in the south of the country you are within an hour or so driving distance of many of the country's primary tourist attractions and heritage sites
Eg - the Blarney Stone in Cork is only 20 mins away. Killarney with its lovely lakes is only 45 mins away. The Rock of Cashel in Co .Tipperary is an hour away... so if you want to sit back and relax by the fire, take a ramble up the fields on our farm - or get out there and see the wonderful countryside and sights from a central comfortable base the choice is yours !
Come on over !!!
