About our home

Our home is in the beautiful scenic mealagh valley in west Cork, we live 1hour from Cork airport and 6miles from a coastal town called Bantry, our home is a very comfortable family home it is very spacious and warm we have underfloor heating throughout the downstairs. We have mountain and sea views outside our home, a large garden with swings, slide and a trampoline, plus a river for swimming 5 mins walk from our home. Our home is warm and inviting in which we love to entertain our friends and family.

More about us

We are a family of 7 my husband Tom and I Luanda plus our 5 children ages 15,13,10,5 and 2, our home is busy full of toys and activities and laughter, we have 1 dog, 2 cats plus 10 hens. This is our first exchange and we are very excited in trying this way of holidaying abroad. My husband is self-employed and I work in a local Montessori preschool. We feel our home is very suitable for people wishing to see and travel around beautiful west Cork, which holds many gems. We wish to see more of other countries and feel this is a very affordable way of doing this.

Our house is situated 6 miles from the seaside town of Bantry, the road from Bantry to our house is a primary road. we live in the beautiful Mealagh valley which has the Sheeps head way walks running through it, it is loved by hillwalkers all over Ireland. Bantry golf course is another main attraction with Bantry house also close by. Our house is in a valley with a river running through it it is covered in trees and luscious green fields, local children often swim in the river. Our house is accessible to Killarney a major tourist attraction in co.Kerry, Glengarrif and it's beautiful views and all major west Cork towns.
