About our home

Our home is located in Dooks and is just steps from one of the most beautiful beaches that you will ever see. The house is minutes from the famous Dooks golf links which is a must for any golfer. A family friendly and comfortable home that is ideal to relax, take in the local attractions and enjoy the stunning scenery in the area. The house shares the same plot of ground / entrance as my parents summer home so they are on hand to provide helpful tips if desired.

The house sits on one of the most scenic parts of the Wild Atlantic Way and is ideally suited to explore all that southern Ireland has to offer. If you like to golf then this is a great place to base yourself. Dooks golf Club (2mins), Killarney (30 minutes), Tralee (45 minutes), Waterville (50 minutes), Ballybunion (1 hour).

For those of you who like to sight see our home is located on the famous Ring of Kerry. Killarney National Park is is must see and is just a short 30 minute drive. Head south on the ring of Kerry and visit Unesco World Heritage site, The Skellig Rock or visit the beautiful seaside towns such as Derrynane, Sneem and Kenmare.

Hillwalkers and climbers are well catered for with the Kerry Way. You could tackle Ireland's highest peak (Carrantouhill) or for those of you who would prefer a long walk on a beach Rossbeigh beach is just 5 minutes away. See image in photo section. It is also possible to go pony trecking at Rossbeigh Beach.

5M rib (must have a boating license to use)

Plenty of fire logs for chilly nights

This is a second home so swaps do not need to be simultaneous.


More about us

  1. We are a family of five. We like to spend a lot of our free time travelling and exploring and in return we love to host in our beautiful corner of Ireland.

  2. Eoin is a business owner (distribution of building materials) and Sorcha is a lawyer.

  3. We both love design and have decorated our homes with comfort and function in mind. We like to golf, sail and ski. We love the ocean and places of culture and beauty.

Where is it?


Dooks is a beautiful relaxing spot to get away from the world. Lots of hiking, beaching walking, sight seeing and great restaurants nearby.

Buzzy restaurants
Jacks Costguard station in Cromane is a lovely restaurant that serves high end sea food, Dooks golf club is open to the public and serves great food and there are multiple restaurant choices in Glenbeigh and Killorglin which are only a short drive away.
Cool bars
There are numerous pubs in the area to have a nice pint of Guiness and sample some of the Irish hospitality
Cozy cafés
Emily's Glenbeigh is a fantastic cafe / high end pantry
Retail therapy
Killarney is probably the best shopping area and is just 25 minutes drive away.
Walks in the park
Here is where this location is unmatched. Whether you like going for long walks on the beach (Rossbeigh) or visiting the world famous Killarney national park. There are hikes and trails to suit all abilities.
Spot of exercise
Dooks is a mountain climbers dream and there are numberous mountains to tackle including Ireland's highest peak, Carrantouhill.
Day tripping
Killarney / Dingle / Skellig Rock / Caherciveen and Kenmare are all within striking distance from this location
