Our home is very much a family home but would also suit couples of any age. It has a beautiful view over the fields and river with horses and cattle in the background and we see the most beautiful sunsets. We spend alot of time on our terrace in the summer having bbqs and enjoying the peace and quiet. Our home has all the mod cons that are needed and plenty of toys (for both indoor and outdoor use, including a 14ft trampoline) for children. We have nice neighbours either side of us.
My name is Angie and my husband is Dave, we have 2 children aged 5 and 9 a boy and girl respectively who are well behaved and love the outdoor life and animals. We would love to go somewhere warm and sunny and possibly near a beach. This is our first time to try a home exchange and we are excited at the prospect of the idea of exchanging homes. We would have the utmost respect for your home and would expect the same in return.
We live in a small town called Birr in Co. Offaly which is located right in the heart of Ireland. Shannon airport is 1 1/2 hours from our home while Dublin is 1 3/4 hours away. Our location is perfect for those wanting to discover Ireland as we are so centrally located. Locally there is so much to see and do. Birr castle is in the town where you can visit the grounds, gardens and science centre. Birr is an old Georgian town with beautiful buildings and is host to one of the longest running festivals in Ireland "Birr Vintage Week" - this year it runs from the 10th-17th of August. We have some lovely restaurants and for those that like a drink and music you will have over 30 pubs to choose from within a 5-10 minute walk. The area is full of wonderful golf clubs and the Slieve Bloom mountains provide a fantastic location for those interested in hill walking and not to forget the River Shannon, Irelands longest river which is located only 10kms away where you can hire boats and enjoy fishing etc. So all in all our town and home would suit a variety of people seeking a peaceful or active holiday. Visit www.birrnet.com for more information on our town.
