About our home

Our beautiful home is a 3 storey house built in Victorian style around a square it is contemporary in design inside with large living spaces and garden, furnished and decorated to a high standard. We are situated in a central location with all amenities within walking distance. We have fantastic mountain views of Bray Head and are within 10 minute walk to the seafront/promenade. We have six bedrooms 2 doubles and 4 twins. We have lots of living space so everyone has space to relax. It has everything a discerning swapper could need!

Bray is in Co Wicklow the 'Garden of Ireland', renowned for its beautiful scenery and many gardens and places to visit e.g. Kilruddery House & Gardens, Bray Head, Powerscourt Gardens & Waterfall, Enniskerry, Roundwood, Glendalough, Wicklow Way, Sugarloaf. It is a haven for walking enthusiasts and has something for everyone even if you're not that way inclined!

Bray has a large Victorian seafront/promenade, only 10 minutes stroll away, along with a Martello tower, one of several scattered around Dublin. James Joyce lived in Martello Terrace for a while. Bray holds Ireland's largest festival every summer in July with many events taking place – free Airshow, live bands, funfair, family events etc.

There are plenty of restaurants and pubs in the area to choose from and lots to do. We are on the doorstop of the Mermaid Arts Centre, literally 1 minute walk away, where they host regular theatre, art house cinema, dance, music, comedy shows and exhibitions. Five minutes away by car there is a 25m swimming pool in Bray. The Bowling alley is within 10 minutes walk. Wicklow has several golf courses nearby including the Druids Glen Golf course, one of the most famous in Ireland with two championship courses that has hosted the Irish PGA and Irish Open’s. There are several horse riding centres nearby. There are also several language schools if you wish to perfect your English.

We are located 30 mins from Dublin city centre and right on the M50 (ring road which brings you right around Dublin) giving easy access to all regions of the country. The Dart can be reached by a 10 minute walk bringing you along the coast to Dublin city centre and beyond to the North side of Dublin and we are served by several bus routes, a 2 minute walk away.

We would like to swap our house with a property of a similar size and standard that sleeps at least 8 people. We are new to house swapping but think it is a great way to travel and see parts of the world through a locals perspective, we would treat any house with respect.

We are looking for a house swap for Christmas 2015 and a 2/3 week house swap for summer 2016, we are open to suggestions but in particular would like to go to Spain, Italy or France for summer 2016.
