Eddie Gallagher, sober, sensible, it would be up to about four or five family members all adults in our forties and fifties that would be looking for the exchange house. Hoping for short holidays in europe
or longer for the USA, does not necessary have to be at the same time as the prospective visitor to ireland provided their house is abvailable when required. The house here in Ireland would be ideal for returning emigrants searching for their Irish roots , or somebody wanting a week away from it all
The house is situated on an elevated site overlooking what is arguably the most scenic part of coastline in Ireland. The property has a magnificent panoramic view looking out to the Atlantic from Cnoc Fola (Bloody Foreland) in the west. North to Tory Island and Inniboffin Island, and east to the magnificent and unspoilt Magheroarty beach and Horn Head.
The area lends itself to some of the finest hill walking and mountain climbing in Ireland, from the high peak of Errigal to the flat summit of Muckish Mountain and on along the lakeshores of the Poison Glen at Dunlewey. There are plenty of well-defined walks for the very young and not so young, plus hill and mountain climbing for the inexperienced and the more professional climber.
The property is only two minutes drive from Magheroarty Pier where there are thriving sea angling opportunities. Local rivers and numerous small lakes provide excellent supplies of salmon and trout.
From the property all the previous places mentioned can be reached between a few minutes to Magheroarty pier to the bottom of Errigal in about twenty minutes. Glenveigh National Park, one of the six national parks of Ireland, is about 30 minutes drive from Cnoc na Naomh, while Letterkenny Town is 45 minutes taking the new road passed Glenveagh National Park, Donegal International Airport is about 30 minutes from Cnoc na Naomh.
The nearby village of Gortahork with its local theatre, entertainment and local hotel and pub provide good craic.
