About our home

This 3 bedroom house, set in the C18th stable yard, with its own private courtyard garden is surrounded by 10 acres of beautiful gardens and sits close to The Green Barn Restaurant and Shop, and our walled organic kitchen garden. It has been decorated to the highest of standards by James an interior photographer and Joanna an interior designer. Built in 1710, and never been sold, and so for that reason it holds a particular charm.

Neighbourhood

The Stable Yard House is located in the picturesque courtyard, set within the grounds of the historic Burtown House and Gardens. Built in 1710 by Quakers, it is one of two houses in Kildare from the C18th to have never been sold. The courtyard garden which is full of lavender, agapanthus, mixed borders, potted plants, lawns and a pleached hornbeam walk, is further surrounded by 10 acres of gardens, a walled organic kitchen garden, meadow walks set in old parkland, with mown pathways and large stone sculpture which is again surrounded by farm walks across the fields. The gardens are considered to be some of the finest in Ireland, and are open to the public from February to October.
Guests are welcomed on arrival by James or Joanna Fennell or by one of their team. We will show you about and answer any questions that you may have, and will be on standby for any questions throughout your stay.
