About our home

Our home is a 3-bedroom semi-detached house in a lovely neighbourhood in South County Dublin. Our house is on a hill with a lovely view stretching from Killiney hill in South Dublin all the way to Howth in North Dublin on a clear day.
Downstairs we have a large bright sitting/dining room with a gas fire and sliding door leading out to a the sun room (new addition in 2015). The kitchen is bright and well equipped, leading open plan style to the sun room, which has folding doors out to the deck/garden, with gas BBQ & patio heater. As the garden is southwest facing, it is a great suntrap & is normally very quiet. Also downstairs is a w/c.
Three of the bedrooms are on the first floor, with the two at the front having a great view, and a double bed in each of them. The main bedroom has a TV and an ensuite with power shower. The attic is converted to a 4th bedroom (double bed) - more suitable for older children or young adults due to the headroom and steep access. The main bathroom has an electric shower & Jacuzzi bath.
The sitting room has a 50" plasma TV, surround sound home cinema system & 4 recliners. The sun room also has a TV & 3 recliners. There's a selection of DVDs, including kids, CDs, computer (& printer) with highspeed broadband, WIFI, games consoles, lots of board games, books & some toys.
We have a Mitsubishi Outlander which is available to swap.

Neighbourhood

We are located in Cabinteely - our neighbourhood is very safe and quiet, especially in summer when schools are off (there is a school nearby) and we have great neighbours. We are a 1 minute walk from a 45 acre park with lots of walks and an excellent playground catering for toddlers to teenagers (see photo). There is a large food/drinks/clothes/household shop 5 minutes walk from the house, and within 1 minute walk (across the road) we have a Tesco Express (groceries & wine) doctor, dentist, Chinese takeaway, pharmacy, drycleaners & coffee shop. Within 10 minutes walk we have a good selection of restaurants, takeaways & two pubs (bars). 5 mins walk to bus stop & 15 minutes walk to the Luas (light rail).
30 mins drive (or bus/Luas) will bring you to Dublin city centre with its wide range of attractions including museums, art galleries, Trinity College, Temple Bar tourist area, Guinness Hop Store, Jameson Irish Whiskey distillery, Christchurch Cathedral etc. 15 minutes from Dun Laoghaire with ferry terminal to UK, beaches & coastal walks within 15 minutes, Dublin & Wicklow Mountains within 20 minutes (see photos of Glendalough), and we are 1 mile from the M50 motorway, which gives easy access to the airport & the national motorway/road network to all destinations - very convenient for day trips in all directions. We also have a number of cinemas, bowling, shopping centres & swimming pool/gym all within 15 minutes.
