More about us

  1. My wife Catherine and I(Frank) are in our forties and have three children. We live near Dublin and are both professionals, we love to take trips to our country retreat by the lake. We are big into sports and also like to travel. We have 2 grown up daughters and a growing son who still like to holiday with us depending on their college schedules. We love to explore and love the outdoors. We are from the area originally but moved away in our teens.

Where is it?

Lovely rural area with towns of Boyle, Carrick-on-Shannon and Drumshanbo all within 10 minutes away by car. Local walking/hiking and fishing at the doorstep with golf and tennis facilities held locally. Seaside is some 35 minutes away by car to Sligo and cruising available in Carrick-on-Shannon the river Shannon. A beautiful forest park nearby with zip-wiring for the young and adventurous while good shopping available in Sligo, or Longford or Enniskillen to the north east. Local scenery unspoilt by modernity and weather typically temperate and with long evenings in the summer months. Festivals a plenty in these months in all the surrounding towns and villages with the emphasis on traditional Irish music and pursuits.
