Our home is large, bright and clean, with a big kitchen/dining room and an open conservatory. There is a living room, TV room and computer room, with internet downstairs. Upstairs there are four bedrooms, three of which have double beds and ensuite bathrooms. The main bathroom has a jacuzzi bath. There is a studio at the rear with a patio and garden area.
Our names are Brendan and Jo, an Engineer and a Nurse and we are in our forties. We have three daughters, aged 24, 21 and 15. We have travelled extensively and lived overseas and are still interested in visiting new places. We had a very successful exchange in 2007 in Spain, and in 2008 we have arranged an exchange in California.
In 2009, we would like to go to a coastal location in either the south of France, Italy or Portugal.
Directly across from the house there is a small award winning park with flowers, shrubs, fountains and benches. We are a five minute walk from the town of Carrickmacross (pop. 7,000)which has good shopping, pubs and restaurants. Dublin is a one hour drive, Belfast is one and a half hours and the coast is twenty minutes. Within less than an hours drive there are historical sites, such as the Hill of Tara, Newgrange and the Boyne river. Golfing, fishing and leisure facilities are available locally.
