About our home

This is our family home in Carrigaline. Our home was constructed in 2006 and is very spacious and comfortable. We have three large reception rooms, a large light filled kitchen. The house has electric powered private gates at the front, a garage and garden to the rear with a large patio at the rear of the house. The house has every convenience and we have a garage with bikes and a three man sea kayak available for use.
The house is suitable for children of any age as the site is secured, safe and private.

We also have a Volvo XC90 7 seat jeep (currently) that is available for exchange as well.

More about us

We are a family of two parents and four children. Aiden & I have lived in Carrigaline since 1997. We have three boys (15,10 & 8), and one girl (12). We will have our first home exchange this Summer (2016) and hope to exchange our home with other families in the future.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our home is situated in a private estate of 52 houses. In front of our house is a grass area where our & our neighbours children play. The estate is on the outskirts (1km) from the centre of Carrigaline. Carrigaline is a small town of c10,000 people approximately 10Km south of Cork City. It lies at the start of the Owenabue estuary in Cork Harbour. Crosshaven as a fishing / boating centre at the end of the Owenabue estuary, and there is a lovely 5Km walk from Carrigaline to Crosshaven.
Deep sea fishing trips, yacht hire and day sailing is available from Crosshaven. Cork City is the main urban area 10Km away and is full of good shopping, restaurants and nightlife.
There are six beaches within a 15 minute drive of our home. There are many good golf courses within 20 minutes drive including, Monkstown, Kinsale, Douglas, Mahon Golf courses. Green fees are payable at each course, but are quite reasonable. The Old Head of Kinsale golf course is c.30 minutes drive from our home.

The roads around are home are very suitable for cycling, giving a cyclist a great choice of flat and hilly routes where the traffic is light (particularly on the country roads).
