About our home

We love our home! It is a roomy contemporary styled 4 bedroom house sitting in 1.25 acres of landscaped gardens about 1 mile outside Kinvara, a small west coast fishing village. The house lies in beautiful Irish countryside overlooking the Burren, internationally protected limestone hills that lie along the Clare Coastline. The rooms are all large with polished wooden floors. We have two reception rooms, each with fireplaces for the stormy Atlantic nights in the winter. Our kitchen is fully equipt and has a 30ft high ceiling, with an adjoining dining area overlooking the front garden and Burren. Our neighbours are lovely and will always be there with a friendly hello and offer of help or advice if you need it. Next doors ducks are friendly too......definitely not on the menu though!

More about us

  1. My wife (Annette - age 36) and I (Tim - age 42) are off to Mebourne, with our 3 year old daughter Rebecca, from October 2008 to June 2011 as a result of my job as a civil engineer. We take huge pride in our home and love our maturing garden with a passion (we have arranged a gardener for our time away, you don't have to worry about that!). We spend our spare time in the summer taking walks along the local country lanes, going to the beach or cycling when we are feeling energetic.

Where is it?

Kinvara is a fishing village located at the end of Galway Bay, on Ireland's west coast. It has a fantastic atmosphere, especially during the summer, with the Cuckoo Festival in the spring and the Cruinniu NaBad Festival(gathering of the boats)in the late summer. With a population of 2,000 it is small enough to be charming and big enough to offer all kinds of activity, including traditional music sessions that frequently spring up in anyone of the thirteen village pubs!! Our local Blue Flag beach is only 10 minutes by car and continues on along the beautiful Clare coastline you will come to the 800ft high Cliffs of Moher. Galway City with its theatres, shopping, night life and great restaurants is about 30 mins away. Further to the west is spectacular Connemara with it's "Twelve Pins" (mountains).
