This is a large detached house on a half acre site with plenty of room for children to play. The ground floor has two large reception rooms. The kitchen/dining area also has a sun room which backs onto the decking and the rear garden. The open plan kitchen/dining/sunroom (separate utility room) is fully equipped with all appliances and it has a large old table which usually forms the centrepiece for any holiday or family gatherings. The sitting room has an open fire, TV, dvd player and piano. Upstairs there are 4 bedrooms and a bathroom. The master bedroom has an en suite. We have room for eight with two double bedrooms, one two single beds and one room with three single beds.
We are Rita and Gabriel and have four children aged between 11 and 19. We are both accountants but while Gabriel works in a business Rita is at home full time. We live in Dublin and Carrowsteelaun is our holiday home. Gabriel's family come from this area and we always spend most of our holidays there.
Carrowsteelaun is in the countryside two miles outside Claremorris, a small town. (Golf Club, Tennis Club, Swimming pool, Hotel, restaurants, pubs,Supermarkets, sports shops, toy shops, clothes shops). The great thing about this location is that is very close to a lot that the west of Ireland has to offer, wonderful scenery mountains and coastline: Westport, Galway, Sligo, Connamara, Cong, Knock and Castlebar are all within an hour's driving radius. There is a mainline train station in Claremorris and a day trip to Dublin is easy if you want to visit our Capital city. Your view from every side is open fields with lots of cows, sheep, horses, rabbits and the odd donkey. Its elevated position gives beautiful views over the Mayo landscape with magical sunsets. Croagh Patrick and The Nephin mountain range give a panoramic view.
