“If you want to visit Dublin and its area, it's a very nice and convenient address in the countryside. We were at the traditional animal fair of Castleblayney: it was an enchanting experience. Laura, Kevin and their 2 children are a lovely and very kind family very keen on helping out and giving very useful recommendations. Their house is also close to Belfast, so visiting the Northern Ireland from there is convenient. We had a very nice time visiting the Bushmills distillery for instance. The house is nice and big to live in and decorated with style. The backyard is also very convenient. Caroline & Georges”
Laura's reviewsAs a host (2)
“In December 2011 Kevin and Laura came to Australia to stay in my home, I am hoping to go to Ireland soon. I really enjoyed meeting them and it was a pleasure to have them and their son, Michael in my home. Beryl”
Where is it?
We live in a semi-detached house in a quiet cul-de-sac of 20 houses. We are in the town of Castleblayney (see www.castleblayney.ie). It is a 15 min walk to the main street and the local shop is a five min walk. Our neighbours are very friendly and there is a large grass area in the middle of the development where the children love to play. We are situated accross from the main Dublin/Derry road and are only 15min drive from Monaghan town. Our town has some lovely cosy pubs, restaurants, shops and a hotel. There is a brand new golf club built on a hill over-looking the town lake with a great golf-course. The lake/island area has forest walks, a ski-club, water sport activities and is great for fishing. There is a gym in the town, art classes, bowling alley and indoor childrens play centre and the Iontas theatre, which puts on great drama plays and musical nights. The local hotel also has great show bands. In Monaghan town nearby there is a leisure centre, cinema and many hotels, pubs and fine restaurants.
Our location is ideal for exploring the North and South of Ireland. We are approx 70min drive from the norths capital city Belfast and 70min drive from the capital Dublin. All good motorway straight roads. There are many lovely towns and seaside areas beside us such as Blackrock, Carlingford and Bettystown. Well known tourist areas such as Donegal, Wicklow and the Antrim coast are all easily accessible and not far to drive. see www.discoverireland.ie
