About our home

Our family home was built in 2005 and is now home to myself, my husband and 4 young children. We have lots of space and a large garden with plenty of play equipment for children. We are less than 10 minutes drive from Cavan town, the largest town in the County, which has good shops, swimming pool, parks, library etc. It is a quiet area but with plenty to do. We are also less than 2 hours drive from Dublin.

Where is it?

We live in a quiet neighbourhood at the foot of Shantemon Mountain, but are only 10 minutes by car from Cavan town. Cavan town is a typical Irish small town with plenty of shops, cafes, restaurants and traditional Irish pubs. Cavan is famous for the abundance of its lakes, which were formed between the drumlin hills left behind after the last ice age. These lakes are teeming with fish and people come from all over the world to fish the lakes and rivers in this area.
Cavan town hosted Fleadh Ceoil na hEireann (the world's biggest traditional Irish music festival) for three years running from 2010-2013 and since then there has been a massive increase in interest In traditional irish music in the county.
