About our home

Our home is a detached semi-dormer two storey house in safe and secure neighbourhood. It has a wide paved patio at the rear, front and rear lawns and flower beds. The area of the property is 0.5 acre, approx 0.2 hectares. There are three double bedrooms,one with en-suite, a study, three bathrooms, walk-in attic space, living room, kitchen, utility, all the usual facilities...electric cooker,washing machine,dish washer,dryer, microwave, TV, DVD, Hi-Fi, computer with broadband access, WiFi.

More about us

My wife Brigid is a psychotherapist. She and I (a retired engineer)are both involved with counseling. Brigid is in her early fifties and I am mid sixties. Our five children are well established and vary from mid twenties to early thirties. We recently returned from a year away touring the world and the bug has hit us to try a home exchange again. We trust that others will respect our home as we would theirs. As our first experience was truly satisfactory we have decided to give it a go again.

We are the proud owners of a lovely, calm detached home surrounded by open farmland with views into Connemara. Galway city with its lively Irish cultural ambiance known for its Irish music pubs, attracts visitors from all over the world is only 20 minutes away by car. Our local village has several supermarkets, pharmacies, church, restaurants and is a historic centre of interest. The seaside resort of Salthill is also nearby as is The Burren, a unique skarst landscape. Our pride and joy is our proximity to Connemara, a wild and mountainous region with beautiful lakes and fantastic scenery.
