About our home

We hope you'll love our spacious home which was designed for family living with large open living spaces. Set in 1.3 acres of private and secure grounds accessed via automated gates. Our home is nestled in beautiful countryside and yet only a 10 minute drive from Kilkenny, Ireland’s oldest medieval and vibrant city, located in the southeast of Ireland and a 90 minute drive from Dublin airport.

Kilkenny City is Ireland’s most visited weekend location see www.southeastireland.com with its grand castle and beautiful park which dates back to 1195 by Norman occupiers. The town has many well preserved churches and monasteries dating from the 13th century. It is also known for its many wonderful festivals throughout the year from the arts, foods, rythm & roots, comedy to name but a few. The surrounding area is also well established as a crafts hub. Kilkenny has an abundance of restaurants, cafes and shops along its winding lanes as well as walking tours, whiskey and beer tasting sessions etc. With a wide range of pubs, hotels and theatre to choose from offering a selection of nightlife entertainment from live music to performing arts. For the golf enthusiast we have three wonderful golf courses all between a 5 and 30 minute drive, including the renowned Mount Juliet Estate which offers the Jack Nicklaus signature course along. For further details on what Kilkenny and the surrounding area has to offer see www.visitkilkenny.ie for more information. For those travelling with children there is a wide range of activities available nearby for children of all ages. To name but a few www.kilkennyactivitycentre.ie / www.footgolfkilkenny.ie / www.kbowlkk.ie / www.norevalleypark.com.

For those who enjoy nature walks our home is situated between 5-15 minute drive from woods and parkland offering a choice of walks, adventure activities such as boating or fishing lakes, archery, zip line, tree top high ropes, climbing wall and leap of faith adventures see www.discoverypark.ie and details of Kilkenny's Castle Park can be found on www.kilkennycastle.ie or Jenkinstown Woods on www.coillteoutdoors.ie. A two minute drive away you can find an important Viking archaeological site, known as the Dunmore Caves, which tells of a Viking massacre at the cave dating back to 928 A.D see www.heritageireland.ie for more info.

A little tour through the house: Our spacious 3,400 sq ft home offers generous sized rooms with all mod cons. It has four bedrooms which sleeps 9 (2 en-suites). You enter the house to a large bright hallway. A split level stylish and comfortable sitting room adjacent to a large open plan kitchen/dining/living room which has a glazed south and west facing opening out onto a large patio area. An outside dining area seats 8 with gas operated barbeque and a herb garden. The private rear garden is 60 metres (196 ft) long and for those travelling with children it comes complete with a trampoline, tree house, swings, slides and a football goal. The main ground floor living room areas has an internal music system along with Amazons 'Alexa' and the sitting room having access to Apple TV, Netflix and a selection of DVDs. Off the kitchen there is a larder and playroom with a selection of toys and TV/DVD. Further down the hallway there is a WC room, utility room and as it's a split level house just take two steps down which leads into a large bedroom with king size bed and en-suite. Upstairs is accessed via an open thread staircase which leads to a bright and spacious room with some gym equipment (rowing machine and exercise bike) or for those who wish to relax there is a favourite spot of mine in which to sit, read or relax. A further three bedrooms: one large bedroom with a king size bed and en-suite, another double bedroom and the third bedroom upstairs has a double and single bed. Separate bathroom complete with Jacuzzi bath, perfect after a workout or for winding down after a busy fun-filled sightseeing day! Due to being a split-level home with open thread stairs our home would not be suitable for young children. Strictly non smoking please.
