About our home

Our home is a semi-detached house with four bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, a kitchen, family room and sitting room spread over two floors. We have a large walled-in back garden that is very private and ideal for children. We have televisions in both reception rooms, a desktop computer with wi-fi and music systems. As we like cooking, we have a well equipped kitchen with all modern appliances. We have lived in our home for 28 years, so it is very comfortable and user friendly. We have plenty of books, dvds, board games and cds to suit all ages and we would be delighted to share our home with you. We have lovely neighbours and you would be very welcome in our neighbourhood.

More about us

  1. We are a family of three. My husband is a semi-retired Banker and a sports enthusiast. I work as a part-time secretary and am an amateur artist. Our 16 year old daughter is in her fifth year of Secondary School and is interested in Everything! Our favorite pastime is planning holidays and then enjoying every second of them! We have visited Europe, America and Canada. This is our first time doing a home exchange and we are looking forward very much to what we hope will be a mutually beneficial experience.

Where is it?

Our house is situated in a quiet cul de sac in the western suburbs of Cork City. Cork is a beautiful city on the southern coast of Ireland. It is a Port city with a population of 190,000. Cork has many cultural and sporting facilities and is an ideal place from which to tour the south east and south west of Ireland. Cork is known as being the 'real Capital' of Ireland! Our house is a 15 minute drive from the City Centre and is a 5 min walk to public transport. In close proximity to our home you will find supermarkets, an indoor shopping centre, a large hospital, a sports/leisure centre, a Rugby Club and a Gaelic Games Club along with some top class golf courses. The local shopping centre has an excellent public library. We are also in close proximity to University College Cork. From our house you will have easy access by road to West Cork and Kerry and also the main highway linking you with the rest of Ireland. Cork is only a 30 minute drive to some beautiful beaches and a 20 minute drive to Kinsale, the culinary capital of Ireland. Cork is also only 20 minutes from Cobh, the last port of call for the Titanic before it's fatal voyage!
