About our home

Our home is a four bed house with very friendly neighbours. There are two living rooms (one filled with toys!) a large open plan kitchen/ dining room, opening onto our main living room.

The kitchen and back bedrooms offer panoramic views of Cork City; by day you can see the Shandon Bells and the Elysian, by night the bright lights of Cork City.

French doors in the kitchen lead out to a large private back garden (a real sun trap if we ever get some
!) We’ve a small BBQ and patio furniture. There’s also a swing set, paddling pool, playhouse trampoline and sand/water table for children.

Our garage is also home to various gym equipment; home gym, treadmill and vibrating plate.

Where is it?

Our home is situated in Donnybrook, Douglas, a ten minute drive away from Cork City Centre.

Douglas is a village bristling with life; with two shopping centres, cinema, library, countless restaurants and bars (both modern and traditional (with Irish music), a farmer’s market on a Saturday as well as children’s playground and community areas.

Donnybrook also offers a quieter side of life, within minutes of leaving our home on foot, you’ll find yourself in huge open fields, again overlooking the city; there are also two wooded areas nearby.

Travelling through Douglas will quickly take you to Cork City – which like Douglas is bursting with life (and history - from the English Market (visited by Queen Elizabeth II in 2011) to the grounds of University College Cork).

Continue on by car away from Douglas will take you to the beach in 30 minutes. Favourite tourist spots like Cobh (the Titanic’s last port of call), Kinsale, Blarney Castle and Youghal are all less than an hour away; in fact you can even drive to Dublin in under three hours!
