More about us

  1. We are Edel and Conor, married with two young boys (aged 6 and 9) and working as a music lecturer and IT instructor respectively. We are keenly interested in music, good food and the outdoors. We have done successful house swaps with friends, as well as three great swaps to the Loire Valley, Alpes-de-Haute-Provence and Bordeaux via this website and are keen to try more.

We would endeavour to make your stay in our home and locality as comfortable, interesting and relaxing as possible! Let us know if you would like us to e-mail you sample activities and day trips for our area. The scenery pictures you can see are ones we have taken ourselves on such day trips from our house.

Where is it?

Our home is situated in a quiet, leafy area and offers easy access to lively Cork City with excellent shopping/markets/festivals/live music/nightlife/quality restaurants etc. We can recommend food, activities and entertainment based on your interests and tastes.

25 minute walk into the city but we are also on a bus route. Car recommended in order to access the countryside. A car swap can be discussed. We have an automatic Honda Civic with two child seats (from age 2 up and up to 12 years).

Nearby attractions include – Fota Wildlife Park; Blarney Castle; Blackrock Castle Observatory; Glucksman Art Gallery; Crawford Art Gallery.

Very nearby there are attractive parks, playgrounds, walks, cycling trails, public swimming pools, a golf course and children’s soft play areas.

We are ideally situated to explore the beautiful coasts and mountains of West Cork; East Cork; Co. Kerry; Co. Waterford and Co. Tipperary. We are a 35-45 min drive from a range of beautiful beaches and picturesque towns (e.g. Kinsale, Crosshaven, Cobh, Clonakilty) and 1.5 hour drive from a range of magical locations (e.g. Baltimore; Killarney; Mizen Head; Ardmore; Mount Mellary etc.). Again we are very happy to recommend places to stay, eat, walks or beaches in our favourite places.
