About our home

Our home is a 1930's recently extended semi-detached house within fifteen minutes walk of Cork City. There are three bedrooms (two double, one single) plus a double Futon and travel cot if needed for extra guests. We have recently extended the house to include a cosy but contemporary kitchen/dining/living room with a solid fuel stove. There is an enclosed paved area to the rear with a trampoline. We have lots of toys, books, bikes and skateboards for use by guests and lots of books to read by kids and adults alike.

More about us

  1. We are a family of four, I am a health professional and my husband is self-employed in the construction sector. We have two children aged 12 and 10. We love to travel and to be active and outdoors. Keen for visiting Europe but also short breaks in Ireland too. We like hiking, mountain biking, surfing, running, rugby and generally getting outside!

Where is it?

Turners Cross is a short fifteen minute walk to the centre of Cork City, Ireland second largest city and voted by Lonely Planet as one of the top ten places to visit. We are less than a ten minute car trip from Cork Airport. Our locality is an established area with mature gardens and access to a large local green area / park with swings and a skateboard park. Cork has a vibrant cafe culture with lots of live music, arts, theatre, restaurants and a reputation for fine locally sourced foods. Easily accessible in the city are: the English Market (famed for local produce and gastronomic delights), Blackrock Castle, The old City Gaol, Shandon Bells, and St Finbarre's Cathedral. We are a short car journey from Fota Wildlife Park (20 mins) and Blarney Castle (20 mins) and also within driving distance to the beautiful beaches of West Cork and Kerry where you will find spectacular scenery and opportunities for surfing, swimming, hiking, mountain biking and lots more.
