About our home

We love our comfortable bright modern home located a few minutes walk from Douglas village, a bustling suburb of Cork City, with 2 shopping centers, selection of bars, coffee shops, restaurants, a cinema and a playground.
There is plenty of open plan living downstairs for you and your family. There is a playroom/ den for kids to hang out, with shelves full of games, books, crafts, a Playstation 3 and a Wii. There is a double sofa bed in the playroom.
There are 3 bedrooms , 2 with a king bed, 1 with a small double (suitable for 2 smaller children or single). The house has excellent WiFi to support multiple devices to keep in contact with friends and family or work .
The back garden is private and beautifully landscaped and we have a good herb garden. We have an 8ft trampoline with a safety net and outdoor table tennis table.
There is an excellent public transport bus network around our home that will take you to the city centre in 10 minutes if you don't want to drive. There are also cycle lanes if you fancy cycling the mostly flat route to the city or cycling the scenic water edge routes by the estuary.
The house is located 10 minutes from cork airport, but is not on the flight path so there is no airport noise. There are plenty of kid and family activities including Oysterhaven activity centre, Ballyhass lakes for wake boarding and other watersports, Farran Zippit, Monkey Maze indoor soft play area, Bounce Zone trampoline park, Go karting, FootGolf, Kayaking, pitch and putt. Ireland is famous for its golf courses, and Cork has some of the finest in the country including the Old Head of Kinsale. You can get to beaches in 25 mins and there are many sailing options in nearby Crosshaven.
In 30 minutes driving you can be in Kinsale, access the attractions and scenery of West Cork, visit Blarney, Fota Wildlife Park, Ballymaloe Cookery School and restaurant, Midleton Distillery, Cobh with the Titanic exhibition, and Spike Island are all within an easy 20 minute drive of our house. If you drive just 1hour you can reach Killarney, Tipperary, Limerick, Waterford and all the attractions they have to offer.
If you stay during school holidays there are a number of kids camps nearby, we can assist you with booking these. Some websites you can check out www.garryduff.com , www.letsgo.ie , www.parkstennis.com , https://www.mardykearena.com/childrenscamps.cfm , www.glencentre.ie These are just a sample of the activities available.
There is a public swimming pool 10 minute walk from the house and two other pools a short drive in the city.

We like a clean homely house, and would look after your home as well as our own. We are non-smokers and do not want smoking in our house.

We would be happy to include a car in a house swap arrangement if a car is available at your home also.
