“Our stay in County Carron last summer was undoubtless one of the most pleasant experiences we have ever had. Noel and Kathleen had a lot to do with this. Their home at Carron is simply cosy, marvellous, with astonishing views and equipped with all the conveniences one could need while on holidays. We like to visit new places. That is the only reason we will not make a swap with them this year again. It is worth repeating... We had also the chance to meet them in La Manga while they were staying at our place. Hope to see you soon! Arancha & Juan Antonio”

Kathleen's reviews
As a host (5)“We originally thought two weeks in the Burren might be too much time but although we made daily trips into the area 2 weeks was not enough. There is so much to see and do. If you want to visit a more urban Centre, Galway and Ennis are about 40 minutes away. This is an area full of ancient history. Often you have to work a bit to get to see the really magical areas. If you are a hiker this is the area for you. The landscape can be stark interspersed with delightful valleys and green spaces. We could never take enough pictures to capture this amazing area. Kathleen and Noel greeted us at there home and showed us how the appliances etc worked. We spent a lovely few hours drinking tea with them on the outdoor patio. They supplied a great deal of information, including many books on the area. The home is very comfortable, 3 bedrooms plus another room with a futon. The views from the rooms are spectacular. It is so quiet. Out the back of the home is a Turlogh, it is a lake that comes and goes with the rain. This is not an area that you want to go to without rain gear. But rain is part of what makes Ireland beautiful. I highly recommend this home for any trip to Ireland.”
“The Burren in Southern Ireland is a magical place to visit. I felt so lucky to have discovered this area. The area is beautiful and full of ancient formations. Hiking in the Burren and looking at the wild flowers is wonderful. The home is located close to wonderful small villages and a nearby pub. Galway is an easy drive away as is The Wild Atlantic Way. We stayed for 3 weeks and always had someplace more to visit and something interesting to see. The house is a very comfortable 3 bedroom with an extra bedroom can be used for drying clothes, storage etc. The views from the home are sublime. Noel and Kathleen are so friendly and so pleasant. They stayed in touch on a regular basis. They left my home in perfect condition, it was such a pleasure to exchange with Noel and Kathleen. Highly recommended.”
“We had the good fortune to stay at this cottage two years in a row because the owners are very, very gracious and generous. Needless to say, we truly love it. The views out the back are to die for, and it is located right in the heart of the Burren - perfect for hiking and exploring. Noel and Kathleen were wonderful hosts--providing maps, information, warm and comfortable bedding, and a lovely kitchen among so many other things. The house has everything you need, as well as just being completely charming in its simplicity. There are fantastic places to explore nearby--the Perfumery, the Caves, Cliffs of Moher, Lahinch, etc., far too much to see in a week. We also love the quiet--it's very hard to find another place so tranquil. Even the cows are very peaceful. In short, we would recommend this place in a heartbeat. We traveled with our two children, ages 11 and 15, and they really loved it as well.”
“We had the pleasure of organising an exchange to Kathleen and Noel's lovely holiday home. It is situated in a very nice area with excellent views. Noel met us and was extremely helpful when we arrived. There is lots to do in the area and there is a lovely pub within walking distance. Noel and Kathleen visited our home at a later date and they left our house exactly as they found it. We would have no hesitation in recommending them as exchange partners. The communication was very open and smooth. Thank you for a lovely exchange. Mervyn and Adele”
More about us
-
Married for over 30 years, Noel is a Social Care Worker and Kathleen is a Civil Servant. We love travel, especially seeing interesting cities but are open to all options. A car is necessary in the area but as this is our second home we would not be in a position to exchange cars. We are fairly flexible with dates and sometimes might have family/friends travelling with us. We are experienced home exchangers having had about 17 successful exchanges to date.
