“We had a wonderful stay in Fiona's home in Crookhaven. I had just had a family bereavement, and the beautiful location overlooking the sea really did my heart the world of good! Fiona was very good with communication and we found her home very relaxing and easy to find our way around. We look forward to returning there sometime in the near future. ”
“This is a fabulous house at the end of the pier right on the water. It is very private but you still feel the atmosphere from the pier area below. Fiona was very communicative and helpful from our first correspondence. We got great weather so it was a magical holiday. The house is very comfortable and well equipped. It was a privilege to stay in such a beautiful property. ”
“We spent ten glorious days in Crookhaven. The view from the house is pretty spectacular - it is like a theatre, with boats zipping across the ocean, flags flying and an abundance of feel good activity all around. Super comfy beds, deep sofas (the conservatory is a wonderful place to read) and floors at are forgiving to sandy feet! Fiona is a most wonderful hostess, and it was smooth sailing from the word go! ”
“We were so lucky to find this little hidden gem, such a beautiful corner of Ireland. Fiona was very friendly to communicate with and made planning the trip very easy. ”
“A magical time was had in Crookhaven. We adored the amazing spot of Fiona's house and communication was excellent we would love to stay again.”
“We had a blissful stay at Crookhaven in Fiona's house. We adored the views, the stellar location and the wonderful beaches all around. We would love to return. THANK YOU FIONA! X”
“We absolutely loved our trip to this breathtaking part of West Cork! Fiona was so accommodating, as it was a last minute decision to travel, she couldn't have been nicer about us staying at her home. The house is beautifully decorated with timber features, and right on the waters edge .. lovely enjoying a glass of wine looking out at the boats! Pubs a 2 minute walk, we can't wait to go back again for a true Irish experience of The Wild Atlantic Way! Thanks Fiona! ”
“We had great time, everything was just fine including the weather.”
“We had a fabulous short break in Crookhaven, the spacious and comfortable house was in the centre of the village and the sun was shining, we couldn't want for more. Don't hesitate to visit!”
“My sister and I were blown away by the breathtaking scenery of this lovely cosy family home. the hosts are lovely people. Very relaxed and hospitable. I would highly recommend this as a holiday made in heaven, Utter peace and tranquillity, my new happy space. We hope to return whenever it is available. Dog-friendly too!! ”
“Lovely family holiday home in a stunning location. As described by the owner, it is not a luxury home but a cosy comfortable family home in a wonderful location. A treat to visit. ”
“We loved staying in Crookhaven in Fionas home, it was everything we hoped and more. Beautiful country, lively little village in the summer and lots of great places nearby to visit. ”
“A magical place. Amazing location right by the water in the beautiful little Crookhaven. We simply did not want to leave at the end of the week. It was also wonderful to be able to use the kayaks from the house. We also got a recommendation for a babysitter from Fiona which was great for being able to go out one evening for dinner in the fantastic restaurant a few steps from the front gate :) We would love to come back!!”
“Fiona’s home was fantastic, we had fun kayaking and exploring the wild Atlantic way, wonderful views, close to harbour and local pub and restaurants. Great place to relax we felt very privileged to have the opportunity to stay at Fiona’s.”
“John and Fiona's holiday home was what I expected and more! The home is cozy and has everything one would need to make the trip fluid so you can concentrate on the important things, having fun and exploring beautiful West Cork! Crookhaven and it's community members made us feel welcomed from the first "Hello". O'Sullivans Pub and Crookhaven Inn made us feel, in the end, like one of their own! We experienced full life in such a quaint village! Now, let's get to the important aspect of my swap, John and Fiona! They are the loveliest of people. They were very accommodating and always available for questions. It's one thing to have a spectacular, we'll placed home in a beautiful area but, the owners make the lasting impression. My trip to Crookhaven was above magical. Graciously, thank you John and Fiona!”
“An amazing property in an idyllic quiet location. If you are looking for a place to get away from it all this is it! Fiona gave us great tips regarding walks in the area, restaurants and cafes in the surrounding towns and she was spot on with them all. ”
“The house is in a stunning location. There are beaches nearby and if you are into sailing or want to learn there is a Yacht Club just down the road. O'Sullivans Bar and the associated restaurant Nottages are excellent. The Crookhaven in does very good coffee, we didn't eat there. Fiona was very helpful and answered the couple of queries that we had very quickly.”
“Fiona and John were fantastic guests . They stayed for 7 nights and you wouldn’t even know anyone had been in the house. Due to work commitments we didn’t get to meet them but we exchanged a few e mails and that was enough to sort out the finer details. We highly recommend Fiona and John as guests and we would be delighted to have them back in Ballyvaghan in the future. ”
“Fiona sounds like a nice and friendly person but we don’t have the same standards regarding cleaning. She thought she had left our house spotless and it was actually dirty. I wouldn’t recommend them as guests. *************************Guest Response************************* This review is untrue and upsetting . We brought gifts that the owner specifically requested. We were gracious in our communication. We left her house clean, did the laundry and paid for a cleaner. We never met the host so we see it as a personal attack on us as guests with no foundation.”
