About our home

The property is a 2 story, detached house ,one of five, in a small private development with a large green area to the front and a big garden to the back and sides. It has three large bedrooms (one ensuite), two and a half bathrooms, a living room, TV room, large dining cum kitchen area (with 2 dish washing machines, a double oven, large fridge/freezer, microwave )utility room (with a washing machine and clothes dryer) and sunroom.
It has oil fired central heating throughout, an open fire in the living room and a wall mounted instant gas fire in the TV room.
The house is situated in County Wexford, on the South coast of Ireland approximately two hours South of Dublin and 25 minutes West of Wexford town. It is located in a rural coastal area, five minutes walk from the beach and the local pub and five minutes drive to the nearest village in Carraig An Bannow. The nearest large supermarket is five miles away in
Wellingtonbridge.
The surrounding area is steeped in history. Bannow Bay, nearby is where the Normans landed in 1169 so there are lots of castles, most in ruins. Some of the nearby attractions are: Tintern Abbey (an 11th century Cistercian Abbey), Loftus Hall (a 666 year old mansion considered the most haunted house in Ireland), Dunbrody Abbey and Maze (12 century Cistercian Abbey), Hook Head Lighthouse (the oldest operational lighthouse in the world which can be seen from our dining room windows), John F Kennedy Homestead ( from where JFK’s Grandfather emigrated in the 1800s), John F Kennedy Park & Arboretum(a 623 acre park with hundreds of trees and shrubs). All these attractions are to the West of our house and to the East, around Wexford Town (a Viking town), there are numerous- Johnstown Castle, The National Heritage Park, Selskar Abbey,to name but a few.
