“I had an absolutely fantastic stay in Chacalna. I felt very welcomed and Sean had great communication. Lots of thoughtful touches to make my stay as enjoyable as possible. The house is stunning and the location is perfect. It is right at the foot of Killiney Hill walk too. Thanks again”

About our home
Our preference is for longer swaps of a fortnight or even a month - in or near to a city/ town.
We would be delighted to consider city-only swaps/stays of 4 nights or longer as well.
As this is our primary residence short stays for points are not on the cards.
We are not keen on properties that are out of town or on their own.
We do wish like for like with the quality of the property with any swap.
Regrettably, we cannot accommodate children under 10 as our house is not child friendly.
Wonderful upscale Dalkey village, six minutes walk from the house, is one of the very best, if not the best, neighbourhoods in Dublin. It is one of the very few authentic suburban villages left in Dublin and is now a protected heritage town with its castles, beautiful buildings, harbours, coastal and hillside walkways.
Three bedrooms-- a super king, a king-size and a double bed. Two bedrooms with en-suite showers and 1 with a full bathroom cum shower. All in Italian marble.
WiFi throughout with a fast 100Mb download
Outside is a sun trap, south-facing, secluded courtyard garden with an upper deck directly outside the kitchen with a six chair Rattan suite plus a large gas-fired Barbecue.
DALKEY and SURROUNDS;
You literally have everything you may need in Dalkey.
Supermarket, shops, super pubs, cafes, coffee shops, great restaurants, bakeries, pharmacies, a health food shop, pizza take-outs, etc, etc.
Killiney hill, right behind Chacalna, has fabulous walks and views over Dublin, Dublin bay, Killiney bay and Bray Head.
Walks along the coast to Colimore and Bullouch harbours and Vico road are a must.
And of course, you have the DART (Light Train) to many, many more within a matter of minutes.
DunLaoghaire, 4 stops away, is a large town with a multitude of businesses including a shopping centre and a public hospital (free to tourists)

Sean's reviewsAs a host (5) As a guest (1)
“Sean's home is the ideal place that I always dreamed. Every single thing in his home is perfect. Kitchen, bedroom, living room and even laundry room... It was a great experience for me to stay there. Dalkey is also nice place. Peaceful and beautiful sunset view. I won't forget the moment I stayed there. I highly recommend his home for everyone's holidays.”
“My stay was five star . The home is fabulous. The views are grand. We could walk to award winning restaurants and shops. Sean was better than any concierge. Sean had welcomed us with any and everything to make our stay wonderful and so memorable. All the extras. Train just minutes into Dublin. All in all Dalkey is one of my top towns in all of Ireland. We traveled for all over Ireland for two months and Dalkey has all the best to offer. Sean's home was definitely a home I would hope to return to. Thanks Sean for everything. ”
“My husband and I and our two teenage sons had a delightful two week stay at Chacalna in July. From the very beginning of our trip planning, Sean was exceptional in his communication providing extensive information about travel, Dalkey and Dublin, and day trip opportunities. He ensured we were welcomed and kept in close touch throughout our trip in case we had any questions or concerns. Dalkey was an amazing town and it was extremely easy to get to the DART (a five minute walk), the airport, etc. Chacalna was the perfect home for us and our family. It was well equipped and have everything we needed and more. We enjoyed so many evenings on the back deck and view from the living room was to die for. It was the perfect house swap!”
“What a wonderful home and Sean was amazing with his hospitality! Arrived completely jet lagged and he was gracious enough to have food, wine and beer for us to settle in. The home is perfect, very clean and welcoming. Great neighborhood. This was my first trade and I was completely amazed at how wonderful the experience was. Thank you Sean!!!”
“Sean and Youshrina were wonderful guests! They left my home spotless. I was happy to host them and would do so again without reservation.”

Where is it?
Dalkey has it all.
You are truly spoiled for choice in Dalkey for fine and casual dining, excellent authentic pubs inc. some with music, wonderful walks in the hills, with stunning views, or stroll by the sea.
Supermarket, Organic health shop, bread shops, fresh fish shop, local fine butchers, veg and fruit shop....it has them all.
The small quaint granite harbours of Coliemore and Bullock are a stroll away as is Killiney hill. You can rent a small boat for very good fishing in the bay.
Transport is right on your doorstep. The DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) station, only seven minutes walk, takes you to Dublin city centre (northbound), fabulous Howth harbour with its seafood restaurants and famous bars.
The large harbour town of Dunlaoghaire with the marvellous long piers, shops, cafes, restaurants, farmers market, etc is only four stops away. The other DART direction (southbound) brings you to the lovely coastal towns of Bray and Greystones. The coastal walk from Bray to Greystones is a must as is the hill of Howth!
The DART line also serves the main railway stations and stops two minutes from the main bus terminus, so really all of Ireland is a mere seven-minute walk away. The Aircoach stops at the nearby Fitzpatricks Castle hotel directly from the airport.
The motorway network is a few minutes away by car
