Our home is a fantastic combination of period features and modern comfort having been renovated in 2015.
You couldn’t have a better location for a holiday in Summer or Winter. We are walking distance to the historic seaside village of Dalkey with its independent food shops , bars and restaurants . This area of the coast has been compared to Sorrento in the Italian Riviera because of its stunning coastal views, quaint villages and it's beautiful homes. Many celebs have chosen to make their homes here, Bono, The Edge, Enya, and the film director Neil Jordan to name a few.
This area is very picturesque and dotted with little working harbours and beaches, some of which are a nice walk from the house . According to the New York Times one of the best sea swimming spots in the world, The 40 ft, is a few miles away. It's a haven for sea sport enthusiasts with kayak trips and paddle board and sailing courses available in the nearby seaside town of DunLaoighre.
Killiney hill park is on our doorstep which has a great kids playground and a coffee shop and is another lovely place for a stroll. Golf enthusiasts are also well catered for in this area!
Dublin city is also half an hour away by car or public transport, and the beautiful Wicklow mountains and countryside are a short car ride away. If you want to travel further afield we are also close to the M50 which is the route to the motorways and the rest of the country.
Our house is spacious with two living rooms and a large modern kitchen with beautiful sea views . Even in the winter it is a joy to eat your breakfast looking at the changing seascape . The kitchen has underfloor heating ensuring cosiness all year round.
Upstairs there is a master bedroom with a king size bed and an en-suite. You can lie in bed and watch the boats coming into Dublin bay ! A second large double bedroom has a queen size bed and there is also a child’s bedroom with big bunk beds. If another bed is required we have an Ikea chair bed which fits in any of the bedrooms. There are two additional bathrooms , one with a shower and one with a bath. Plus a downstairs WC.
There is a patio with a full size basketball hoop and garden big enough for kids to play in, but the best bit is the Hot Tub with a view over Dublin Bay.
We are a family of four and our children are 12 and 14 so there are books / LEGO/ Xbox etc for visiting kids. We also have two cats who live mainly indoors but who have a catflap to come and go . Ideally it’s preferable for the cats to stay here but I will consider boarding them out if necessary . They are friendly and low maintenance just needing food, water and the odd cuddle.
We have an automatic car which is also available in an exchange situation.
We are a family of four with two kids, Ava who is 15 and Hugo who is 13
