Our house is situated in Dalkey, one of the nicest suburbs in Dublin. The house dates from 1850 and was completely renovated in 2011/12 and features spectacular views across Dublin bay from the front of the house and a large garden - complete with kid's den, treehouse and table tennis - at the rear.
On the ground floor, there is a very large kitchen/dining room fully equipped with a double Belfast sink and Smeg/Miele appliances. There is an interconnecting room with feature Victorian fireplaces used as a kids playroom - there is a television, Xbox and PC in this room. Also on this level is a walk-in shower (wet) room and a laundry room.
On the first floor is a very large living room (in the picture) with Dublin bay views and comfortable seating for 10 or more - there is also a dining table and a television with satellite connections. Also on this level are two double bedrooms, each with feature Victorian fireplaces and a large bathoom with freestanding Victorian bath and a separate shower.
On the top floor is the master bedroom - a very large room with stunning views - a lovely en-suite bathroom with a Victorian free-standing bath and separate shower and there is also a dressing room. There are also two further bedrooms (one with two single beds and one with a bunk bed). There is a also a large family bathroom.
Outside we have a den in the garden with table football, pool table, wifi and Xbox - ideal for older kids! The garden also features a treehouse for the younger kids and in the garden you can see the granite rocks Dalkey was originally famous for.
After the renovation was complete, the house was featured in a Irish interior design magazine! Read It here: http://1drv.ms/1Y60YWw
The DART (local commuter train) is only 5 mins walk from the house - taking you into central Dublin with all the city has to offer in about 30 mins. In Dalkey and the surrounding areas, there are a host of great pubs, restaurants, walks and beaches nearby and the house is very close to Sorrento Terrace - one of the most iconic terraces in the county and also to the two harbours in Dalkey and the views to Dalkey Island just off the coast. County Wicklow - known as the "Garden of Ireland" is only 15 mins drive away, with great places to visit including Enniskerry village, Powerscourt House and Greystones.
We have bikes for all ages - easy cycling trips to Dun Laoghaire (port with great weekend market) and also a car swap (7 seater automatic People Carrier can be arranged).
