About our home

Our home is a 3 storey duplex apartment. There is a balcony to the front and a large shared garden to the rear. There are 2 large, bright double bedrooms and 1 smaller double room. There is a spacious living/dining room attached to the kitchen. We feel comfort is important and while our house is full of mod-cons, it has a homely/lived-in feel. It is decorated with art work from around the world and a selection of books for you to curl up with. We want you to feel like our house is your home from home for the duration of your stay.

More about us

I am Physiotherapist and a Pilates Instructor. Alaric is a Physical Education and Geography teacher and also a Gaelic football trainer. We both enjoy outdoor activities, art galleries/museums, music gigs/theatre and eating-out! We have not tried a home exchange before but are looking forward to trying it. We are keen to get to know our fellow exchangees before our swap in order to best facilitate your swap to Ireland!

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

We live in a quiet, safe estate on the outskirts of Drogheda, a large town with good shopping and restaurants. If culture is your thing, you can visit nearby ancient burial grounds and monuments such as Newgrange and Dowth. Our place is located just 3 miles from the beach and 25 miles from our capital - Dublin. There are very regular bus/train services from Drogheda to Dublin both day and night. Dublin has a fantastic variety of culture/nightlife and shopping to cater for all tastes.
