Situated just 10 minutes stroll to the World Heritage site of Newgrange (the Neolithic passage tomb which is older than the Pyramids), our beautiful home was completely renovated in 2007 and is contemporary yet homely, with an elevated position overlooking gardens and a small stream running from the end of the garden into the river which is approx 5 mins walk. Set in the world heritage site yet just 25 miles north of Dublin and a 5 minute stroll to our lovely village. There are two family rooms, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and an additional w.c. and small gym with treadmill, weights bench, punchbag. Peaceful setting, fabulous walks, friendly village with pub/restaurant/hotel, shop, church and beauty salon (5 min walk) with bustling town just a 10min drive. Local bus service to town twice daily. Endless places of interest, many just a short cycle ride away, we have four bikes all in excellent condition.
Beautifully positioned in a small valley creating a natural sun trap in the large south facing garden and decked patio area where you can cook fabulous food on the BBQ, while enjoying the calm and tranquility, or spend the evenings sipping a nice red on the balcony listening to the beautiful bird life that surrounds us. Children may enjoy the large trampoline, or taking a few shots at the goal or the basketball hoop. They may prefer the Xbox and the games eg: FIFA 15 (LIVE) or playing the more traditional board games of which there are many!! Alternatively, turn left out of the house and wander up the road tqo the local Gaelic Football pitch and cheer on the local team in their twice weekly Game, not for the faint hearted! but lots of fun!.
You will be spoilt for choice with the many beautiful walks and the numerous places of interest right on our doorstep: Newgrange, Knowth, Dowth and Oldbridge House, Battle of the Boyne site are all within walking distance and are some of the most interesting and popular places to visit in Ireland. Fishing on the River Boyne, which is a 3 minute walk, can be arranged by one of the local villagers (Paddy or Sean) or a short drive away takes you to the beach (15 mins) and some of the many castles in the area; Slane castle, Trim Castle, Ardgillan Castle or Malahide Castle (within 25 mins drive).
If its a few thrills for the children then Funtasia (huge water park) with roller skating, soft play, "Frozen" themed experience and high wire assault course along with crazy golf and bowling should keep them happy and its only 10 mins drive. If you prefer staying closer to home our lovely local village has a cosy pub which also boasts a fabulous restaurant with some fine wines. Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner it is open all day, every day! Alternatively, if you have a sweet tooth you won't be disappointed with the fabulous assortment of home baked cakes at the Bru Na Boinne visitor centre just 5 mins walk up the road.
