Grotto Place, Booterstown is a fully-modernised mews cottage situated in a quiet secluded lane just off the Rock Road, (the main coastal route to and from Dublin City South), adjacent to a sizable wildlife/bird reserve between the villages of Sandymount and Backrock. Its location guarantees peace and quiet, combined with easy access to two major public transport networks. Just across the main road is the Booterstown DART (Dublin Area Rapid Transport) Station. As its name suggests, this is a rail network which affords easy and regular transportation to Dublin city centre (travel time around 10 minutes) as well as many nearby places of interest. For example, just a few train stops minutes south you will find the scenic coastal towns of Dun Laoghaire (with its major ferry connection to the UK), Dalkey and Killiney (two of Dublin’s most prosperous suburbs, home to many Irish celebrities and top-class restaurants and bars). To the north, also easily accessible in minutes by DART, lie the picturesque and popular suburbs of Howth and Malahide. Alternatively, literally a few seconds walk from the front door, you can hop on one of the frequent buses which serve all the main routes into and around Dublin city. The cottage therefore serves as the ideal base for exploring and enjoying Dublin’s central sights and nightlife, as well as the plentiful attractions which lie a little further afield.
Grotto Place comprises a spacious, beautifully decorated living room, receiving all-day natural light through its modern ceiling skylights, a real fireplace for burning wood and the traditional Irish fuel, turf, wooden flooring, two comfortable sofas, side tables, TV (with Sky TV channels), DVD and CD player plus sound system. The master bedroom is toward the rear, off the living room, with double bed & TV. Also off the living room to the front is a second room, currently serving as a walk in wardrobe/dressing area. The kitchen and dining area are located to the rear of the house and contain a dining table with chairs, a modern gas cooking hob, electric fan oven, work surfaces, sink and microwave oven and fridge-freezer. There is a comprehensive collection of quality cooking utensils, pots, pans and vessels ideal for the cookery enthusiast, as well as an extensive library of recipe books. All are stored away in the attractively-finished storage spaces. The kitchen’s French doors open onto a charming private rear patio, complete with a marble-top dining table and chairs. To the left of the kitchen and dining area is the bathroom, comprising bath, power-shower, washbasin and toilet. To the left of the bathroom is the airing cupboard, where you will find the water boiler and hot water controls. The cottage combines antique Irish charm with the best in modern convenience, and is tastefully appointed throughout. Wifi is included. It is the ideal Dublin holiday accommodation for any couple or single person wishing to enjoy Dublin and its surrounds, while enjoying the comforts of a lovingly created and maintained home.
