This beautifully maintained detached family home is very tastefully decorated and comfortable. Upon entrance through the double doored porch, there is the large hallway, leading on the right through double doors to a large bright formal living room with an open fireplace, TV and pool table, with spectacular views to the rear through double doors accessing a deck. Adjacent to the living room is a guest bedroom with separate WC. To the left of the hallway are two additional large bedrooms and a large bathroom. The first bedroom is very large and bright, and has a double bed and built-in closet, while the larger second bedroom has bunk beds, walk in closet and en-suite bathroom. The master suite is on the top level of the house, with a large bedroom (Super King bed), walk in closet and an en-suite bathroom. Leading downstairs from the hall, to the garden level, is the heart of the family living area. This single room approx 35 ft long comprises a very large kitchen (complete with Aga with separate hob and oven) leading to dining area and then to a family den / TV area with a wood burning fire, and leading to a cloak room, WC and a laundry / utility room. Double doors lead from the family room to a sunken garden terrace with steps up to the large garden (100 ft x 40 ft), lit up at night. The house is alarmed throughout and has broadband internet.
We are Neil and Lisa and we have two children, a son (14 years) and daughter (11 years). Having both lived abroad ourselves for a number of years, our love of travel has extended into our family life, with our children now sharing our passion for experienceing new countries and environments. But while we love travelling (we have had 5 very successful exchanges in the US (x2), Brazil, France and Sri Lanka), we love and are proud of our own home, and we will take care of your home as well as our own.
The house is a 7 min walk to the DART station (local commuter train) and an 8 mins stroll to the beautiful heritage village of Dalkey. Boasting some of the most spectacular scenery in Dublin, Dalkey is arguably the most highly sought after residential neighbourhood in Dublin. There are a great variety of renowned restaurants and bars to choose from within mins from our home, and the area is perfect for walking as it has numerous safe secenic routes offering panoramic views ranging from Dublin city (only a 25 min drive away) to Wicklow (the 'garden of Ireland', only a 20 min drive, where you will find the Powerscourt Gardens and Waterfall as well as many other stunning tourist attractions) to the UK / Wales (on a very clear day!). Being just 1 km from the sea, many small local harbours, boating, swimming (the famous '40 Foot' in Sandycove is a 2 min drive away), windsurfing and other maritime activities are easily accessible, as are public golf courses, cinemas, shopping, etc. Also, the nearby town of Dun Loaghaire hosts a number of festivals during the summer months.
