About our home

Our home is a lovingly cared for victorian home of 4,500 square feet, originally built in the 1850's as a residence for the local military garrison and overlooking a beautifully conserved regency garden square. Over the years it has been transformed into a luxurious family home full of comfort and character.

At ground floor level there is a large, bright, family kitchen/ dining area, including an aga and all the expected modern conveniences. Adjacent to this is a comfortable family sitting room, with a large period fireplace and flat screen TV.

The first floor comprises of an elegant sitting room and dining room, with a range of period features, including fireplaces, grand piano and large windows overlooking the central square.

The two floors above this have four bedrooms, three doubles, one single, two with ensuite bathrooms and a family bathroom. This also includes the master bedroom with stunning views over Dublin Bay.

The basement level is the leisure zone, with a large wall mounted flat screen TV, X-Box, DVD player and contemporary style fireplace. This is also home to a half size snooker/ pool table and Dart board. At this level there is a fifth bedroom (double), with bathroom, a family utility room and home office.

Large glass doors open to a sheltered garden with water feature at the rear of the house, which is fully equipped for outdoor dinning, including BBQ. There is also a trampoline for use in the garden with safety net.

Please note that as the house is four stories over basement level it is not suitable for those with mobility issues.

Our house is located within a 10 minute walk of the quaint village of Monkstown, where you find a range of good pubs and restaurants for both lunch and dinner. The village also provides lots of opportunities for gourmet shopping for local breads, cheese and wine.

The house is only a 2 minute walk to the sea, where you can enjoy beautiful coastal walks, swimming, boating, sailing and of course there are no less than 10 golf courses within 15 miles of the house.

You will have a short 5 minute walk to the local train station from where you can explore the beautiful coastline, taking in atmospheric Irish villages along the way, such as Dalkey and Greystones.

There is also a short trip of only 15 minutes to get to the heart of Dublin city. Here you can experience all this vibrant city has to offer, with numerous museums, art galleries and well known attractions such as Trinity College, Book of Kells, Guinness Hop Store and the Phoenix Park. If shopping is high on your 'must do' list then a treat awaits with numerous uniquely Irish boutiques where you will find interesting and unusual finds from our home grown fashion designers.

Dublin is the hub for the national transport system and within a short space of time, using perhaps the train service, you can spread your wings further and experience a lot more of what Ireland has to offer. Wicklow, otherwise known as, 'The Garden of Ireland', is 30 minutes away by train, where there is a range of historic, leisure, adventure and sporting experiences.
