About our home

We live in a bright newly refurbished bungalow on a quiet suburban street. The house consists of a kitchen/living area, TV room, two bathrooms and four bedrooms. The master bedroom which is ensuite gives out onto a little garden. Two bedrooms have single beds and the other has a double. We have a large trampoline in the back garden which looks onto mature trees.

More about us

We are a couple in our 40s (Mark and Louise) with three children aged 15,13,8,and a cat called Joxer. We both work in social/development work and enjoy travelling and meeting people from different countries. We are looking for a restful holiday but with lots of places of interest for children/teenagers. This is our first time to try home exchange. Mark speaks French fluently and the rest of the family have some understanding and want to improve.

Dundrum is a village situated 8km from Dublin city centre, a 20 minute journey by tram. Nestled at the foot of the Dublin mountains, Dundrum is a great base for visiting the cultural sites of Dublin and also a good access point out of the city for hill walking, golfing, horse riding, cycling, and fishing. We are 4km from the sea. We are a five minute walk from Dundrum Town Centre with its many shops, 12 screen cinema, theatre, restaurants and bars. There is an indoor swimming pool/gym nearby. We are close to Marlay Park with its gardens, playground, and tennis courts. Airfield Farm/ecology centre is also worth a visit (www.airfield.ie).
