About our home

We own a comfortable, spacious 3 bedroomed family home located at the end of a cul-de-sac on a quiet road. We have lived here for the past 6 years with our 2 children, Molly aged 6 and Jack aged 4. The living area of the house is very spacious and comprises open plan kitchen with all mod cons and a side room off the kitchen which we use as an office/study as both myself and my husband previously ran our own business from home. The kitchen has double doors leading out to a large south facing rear garden. Our lounge comprises of open fire place, 2 large comfortable sofas and tv with cable. Upstairs we have 3 bedrooms, the master bedroom has a King Size bed and ensuite with shower, toilet and sink. Our 2 other bedrooms currently have 2 single beds and wardrobes but a double bed can be fitted into each of these bedrooms if preferred. Our main bathroom comprises of toilet, sink and bath with shower overhead and is partly tiled. Outside there is parking on the property for 2 cars. Our house is located approximately 10km from Dublin city centre and has good access to transport links. It is a very happy home and we have enjoyed living here first as a couple and now as a family of four.

More about us

  1. Myself and my husband are business owners and we ran our own digital print company in Dublin for the past 8 years which we sold in October 2007. We have since ventured into other online business projects which allow us to be more flexible and work from different locations. We are looking for a lifestyle change whilst our children are still young and can adapt to their new country and relocated to Beaumaris, Melbourne in January 2009 and were lucky enough to engage in a house swap until December 2009 which has really helped us and the children settle down well into our new life in Australia and do what we wanted which is to participate in plenty of outdoor family activities. In addition we have set up our new Australian company and are business is starting to find it's feet so we are beginning to establish some roots. We are a very accommodating and flexible family who enjoy life and new experiences. Ideally we are looking for a longer term exchange but our dates are very flexible. Our existing house exchange finishes on Dec 19th 2009 but we can take up an exchange from end Nov 2009 onwards.

Where is it?

Our neighbourhood is very family friendly and there are a number of young families located on the same road. Our house is located at the end of a cul-de-sac road which means it is very quiet as there is no through traffic. Within a 5 minute walk there are a few shops such as a convenience store, pharmacy, pub etc and also within a 5 minute walk there is a public park with a pond. We are located at the foot of the Dublin mountains which means within a 5 minute drive you can be out enjoying the countryside. In addition, our house is located within a 5 minute drive to one of the main transport roads, the M50 which means you can have easy access to both the north and south of Dublin city. Dublin is a thriving city with plenty to do such as excellent restaurants, theatres, parks, museums, nightlife etc
