The area is quiet and safe.

Nearby attractions include Herbert Park (10 minutes' walk), and Merrion Square Park (5 minutes' walk). Also nearby is Pearse Street DART station (7 minutes' walk), several bus stops, a Tesco supermarket (5 minutes, open till 11pm), a 24-hour Spar, 2 dry cleaners, video rental store, several banks, a gym, tennis courts, and several good bars and restaurants.
