Our home is a lovely, 150 year old, 2 bed/1 bathroom cottage - with a newly renovated kitchen - right in the heart of Dublin. We're just a ten minute walk from the city centre where bars, nightclubs and shopping all happen. We live in a charming little square with about ten other cottages and all the neighbours know each other and look out for one another. We have a big flat screen TV, high speed internet, hundreds of books on the shelves to choose from, and an extremely comfy couch. There is one en suite master bed room and an office with a futon so it can sleep three. But it would be perfect for a couple looking to explore all that Dublin has to offer. Our home is a perfect mix of modern and old world.
Myself (27) and my husband (34) are artistic professionals. He is a journalist for several major publications in the country and I am an actor. We are both laid back and easy going, we love a good adventure and meeting new friends. We like to keep a clean and organised home. We would consider ourselves outdoorsy types; both of us are very active. We are extremely open minded and welcome every new opportunity with open arms! Please, anything else you wish to know, do not hesitate to drop me an email at mackenzy.cade@gmail.com :)
Our square is located right off Meath Street, which is famous for it's markets, green grocers and butchers. Anything you could ever want you can get on Meath Street. Saturdays on the street are particularly interesting when there are numerous stalls and markets and a fun and bustling atmosphere (If you've ever been to London it's quite like a mini version of Camden Town). If you walk five minutes west, you are standing at the gates of the famous Guinness brewery, storehouse and museum. A taxi to the city centre from our home costs less than ten euro. The square on where our home lies is full of very friendly families and couples and is very well kept with established trees and everyone's flowers and plants outside. We all know each other's names and chat with each other from time to time; they are all good people. Our house is located in the oldest part of Dublin - known as the Liberties - which was first settled by the Vikings over a thousand years ago. There are even some of their churches and original city walls still standing within walking distance of our house. We are extremely close to Phoenix Park, the largest urban park in Europe. We are also five minutes away from St. Patrick's Cathedral and ten minutes away from Christchurch Cathedral. We are LITERALLY in the centre of everything you could want to do in Dublin City. However, should you choose to explore more of Ireland, Heuston train station is a 15 minute walk from our house, and that will take you anywhere in the country. We can also offer a car during your stay.
