About our home

We are a family of 5 (children ages 18+). I am a professor in Trinity College Dublin. We would love to spend time in France but would also consider northern Spain - especially Barcelona. Our house is very nice - built around 1900 - and is furnished very well with many antiques but also very child friendly. There are two large living rooms both with large multi channel TVs. Internet access is free. There is also a dining room - a kitchen with everything needed. 4 large bedrooms with very comfortable beds, gym equipment, and a 5th single bedroom. There are two bathrooms, both with shower, one with bath. There is a backgarden where children can happily and safely play. We are walking distance to pubs and shops and 2 mins walk from buses which go right in to the city centre in under ten minutes. Very nice area for children with lovely parks and playgrounds,also lots of local summer camps for them - sports (with swimming), art and drama. I can give you phone numbers of babysitters who are known to us for many years.If you are an academic I would be happy to get you permission to use Trinity College library and you may also work in my office on campus if you wish.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Very nice neighbourhood - lots of families - extremely safe. Short bus ride into city centre or you can walk to Stephen's Green, Christ Church etc. Lots of local amenities - pubs, restaurants, swimming pools, kids summer camps, libraries, shopping centres, coffee shops. Three parks are walking distance - Bushy Park, Palmerston Park and Harold's Cross Park. You can also take a bus to Enniskerry in Co. Wicklow (Powerscourt House)or take a connecting bus to the DART train which will right around Dublin Bay to places like Dalkey, Killiney, Bray, Howth.
