About our home

Our house is a beautiful Victorian three-storey terraced house in a leafy south Dublin seaside suburb. You can see the sea and Dublin's lighthouses from many rooms in the house, and as the house was built on a high ridge, some of these views are spectacular. The house contains four bedrooms, two bathrooms, a large sitting room linked to the modern kitchen and a large office/library. We have front and rear gardens and stone steps lead up to a hall door and then to a substantial hallway. The separate rented ground floor flat is accessed by its own front door. Nearby are many public parks, beaches, schools, shops and a local farmer's market. The sea is only a five- minute walk away with its many seafront restaurants, sailing clubs and shops. A Dart station for easy city centre access is a five minute walk away. Bus routes also pass by the house so a car is not strictly necessary.

We are a married couple with four children, ranging in age from 5 to 12. Both architects, we enjoy traveling and experiencing new places.

Dun Laoghaire is a seaside town located twenty minutes by train from the city centre of Dublin. It has all the amenities of a town (library, bookshops, shopping centre, food shops etc.) while also being a leisure centre with many sailing clubs, sports facilities, beaches and two great piers for walking and roller-blading. It also has many leafy public parks where farmers' markets, music festivals and children's activities take place. We think it's a great place to live.
