Our house is a newly two story house on a large landscaped site. The property is situated in the heart of quiet countryside close to heritage of Ardagh, Co. Longford.
Externally the house is finished in stone, as is the large spacious garage. Inside the accommodation is bright and very spacious. The kitchen come dinning room looks onto the front of the house, with patio doors to the garden. A sun room to the rear of the house has french doors entering on the patio. The sunroom also had multi fuel stove.
There is also a second sitting room with a cast iron fire place.
There is downstairs bedroom en suite. The main bathroom is also located downstairs. Upstairs there are two double bedroom and a bathroom.
The house is very modern and finished to high specification.
We are a family of three. My name is Brigid and I work full time in a professional capacity in the Health Services in Ireland. My husbands name is Michael and he is an accountant. We have one son, who is a tax consultant. We have a dog called Schumacher.
Our holiday home has never been exchanged before so we are looking forward to trying this out. The property is available most of the year apart from short periods during the summer months. We would be happy to consider any exchange offer particularly in Spain, France, Italy or Germany.
The environment is rural, perfect for countryside walks. The local the heritage village with it's characteristic stone buildings is located in the heart of goldsmith country.
There are a number of vibrant towns located nearby. These include Longford, Athlone, Mullingar, Glasson, Edgeworthstown. There is a train station in Edgeworthstown with hourly trains to Dublin.
There are a number restaurants in these towns including the well known Wine Port restaurant in Glasson.
The property is within easy reach of the Shannon river and associated amenities. There are three local golf courses and very good shopping facilities in Athlone.
