Our home is a 5 minute walk from Ennis town in County Clare and 20kms from Shannon Airport. It is a detached house with all facilities and a large garden. There is a very comfortable lounge with an open gas fire and two couches. There is 1 King bedroom also 2 double bedrooms with one en suite and 1 bedroom with two single beds. Also a nice family bathroom. There is a large kitchen , dining , relaxing area which is the the heart of our home. The garden is lawned with mature shrubs and there is garden furniture and gas barbecue on the patio area. We love spending time in the garden and having friends over
For dinner.
James and I are both in our sixties and enjoy Irish traditional music and dance and especially love walking on the beaches of County Clare. I am in a Government job and James works in Health and Safety. We had a great exchanges to Brisbane, Westport and Anglesey Australia ( Feb 2014). We look forward to visiting new places in the future. We would expect to arrange an exchange some way in advance in order to get to know our fellow exchangers via email first to see how best we can facilitate their stay in Ireland.
Ideally located as a touring base for the Wild Atlantic Way. Ennis town offers easy access to the cities of Galway and Cork in around an hour and half. Ennis has lots of restaurants, a museum, theatre and a Sculpture trail. Dromoland Castle is just 10minutes away and the tourist attractions of The Cliffs of Moher, The Burren are 30minutes away. Surfing is very popular on the County Clare coast with Lahinch and Spanish Point just 30minutes away. There are many festivals in County Clare and of course the county is very famous for Traditional music and Set Dancing with Doolin and Miltown Malbay just also just 30minutes away. For children Bunratty Folk Village and Craggaunowen bronze age village are a real treat. The Burren offers a magical experience for all age groups. There is also lots of Golf Courses with the beautiful Doonbeg within 40minutes drive.
