About our home

Situated on 1st floor of modern Apartment block with stairs and lift facility. Has 3 single bedrooms with ensuite shower toilet and hand basin. A small sized hallway serves as cloakroom and a built in washing machine facility combined with the hot water cylinder. A doorway leads onto a long corridor with bedrooms to left with window views to a car park and a west facing aspect capturing great sunsets. At the end of the corridor is a Kitchen cum dinning room cum lounge and a small balcony facing west. The kitchen is a modern design and compact with dish washer, fridge freezer, electric cooker and ample storage cupboards.
There is a section adjacent with TV and Playstation and seating consisting of a 2 seater and 2 matching single seaters. The dining area is equipped with Table and chairs for 4. There is an electric storage heater and timer controlled heaters in the bedrooms. It is a very comfortable apartment and it has one great feature which is, it only needs heating when temperatures go below 7 degrees centrigrade

The area connects the east side of the city to the westside which the local shopping centre is named. The neighbourhood is both modern and old with many generations of families forming a compact and lively community. Walking distance to shopping centre, Library, Post Office, Pubs and St Michaels sports pitch that have tennis courts also. Walking distance to Beach in Salthill which has some free parking areas. Although I have a car I rarely use it as I can walk to almost all areas of Galway. I use the Library a lot, not only for books but for others interest as well, On Wednesday I meet a group of knitters and see this as great opportunity to meet my neighbours. This is a safe enviornment to live in and has expanded in recent years but still retains it's valueable character.

Myself and my 15 year old son share the apartment and is ideal for both of us. It is 5 mins walk to school for my son and 30 mins walk for me to walk to college. Most of my time is taken up with caring for my boy and getting him to and from soccer which he is fanatic about. He has started playing the guitar and likes it too. I just finished a back to education course in college which I enjoyed and as yet not sure where that is going to lead but I have options to think about later in the summer. I like to get involved in the community, that could mean helping out at Meals on Wheels, or helping various projects the church runs. I like to read particularly travel books and my all time favourite book is One day in the life of Ivan Devonovich (did I spell that right). There are a lot of activities one can get involved in here in Galway, there is not end to the attractions in winter and summer but I cannot do everything but I look forward to doing more when my son is no longer dependant on me
