About our home

Large two storey country house just 4 years old. Very nicely furnished, very cosy and comfortable. There is a large country kitchen with adjoining family room/playroom with wood burning stove. There are lots of toys, books and DVDs for children and a swing, slide and big trampoline in our large garden, there are four bikes for use. (2 adults/2 children) Car available.

More about us

We are Catherine and Johnny and we have two lively little boys Eoin (11) and Cian (7). Johnny is an army officer and Catherine is a busy stay at home mum.

Where is it?

Neighbourhood

Our house is located 1.5km from the village of Oughterard (see www.oughterardtourism.com). The house is located on a nice country road suitable for walking. The lake of "Lough Corrib" is 2km away, it is famous for its fishing and lovely views. There is an 18hole golf course 1km away. Oughterard is 25km from the lively, colourful and historic city of Galway located on the sea. Oughterard is known as the "gateway to connemara" and as you leave the village you are in the heart of Connemara, it is an ideal base for touring connemara and the Galway area. There are beautiful connemara beaches just 45min drive away. There is a hotel located just a 5 min stroll from the house with restaurant, bar and small swimming pool all open to the public.
